Inverno, the Italian word for winter, is the name and inspiration behind the debut album of Sydney guitarist/composer Nic Vardanega.

Featuring eight of Vardanega’s compositions, recorded fittingly in the winter tranquillity of the Blue Mountains in July 2014, the album features Steve Barry on piano, David Groves on acoustic bass and James Waples on drums.

Here’s what Nic has to say about Inverno.

“Inverno is a collection of tunes I have written over the past few years that hold a common aesthetic. I’ve always liked the idea of a concept album and this album is a culmination of a deep interest in my Italian heritage and the colours and moods that winter brings to mind."
